I paid for something, what happens next?
Within 48 hours of when you sent your payment, you'll get an email with a password and a link to the purchased downloads page.

Will any Brainormous products work on iOS or Android products?
No. Brainormous products are built in Flash. Since these devices don't support the Flash plugin, our products won't work on them.

I sent a payment (more than 48 hours ago), but haven't received an email with instructions for how to download.
It can take up to 48 hours from date/time of purchase for the email with download instructions to be sent to you. It's possible that your email program is sorting emails from BrainOrmous as junk. Search for emails from brainormous.com and you might find the information if it wasn't deleted.

Unfortunately, there are some rare circumstances where a user's email will bounce back to us, usually because the email was mispelled when payment / contact was sent. In this case, there is no way of getting hold of the user. If you see what might be your email address below, then your email is bouncing back.
  • jabemis@ch... (12/18/2011)
  • dustercorp... (12/16/2011)
  • jlberkle.. (3/14/10, getting spam blocker errors when we fill it out)
If it's been more than 48 hours since you sent payment, or if you see what might be your eamil address above, go to the contact page and fill out the form. If possible, include an alternative email address or an address to which something can be mailed to you directly and we'll send you the information required to complete the dowload process.

Is there any monthly or yearly subscription fee?
No. Anything you purchase from BrainOrmous is yours forever.

Technical Requirements: What are the system requirements for software purchased from BrainOrmous?
Software purchased from Brainormous can be played on any full computer (by full computer, we mean laptops and desktops, as opposed to netbooks and custom computers like the iPad or other tablet) computer running Windows 98 or later or any Mac running OSX. When you purchase the software, you have the option of downloading it in Browser format, in which case, it will play on any Mac or PC computer with a browser and a Flash 6 or greater plugin.

Refund Policy: I'd like a refund, what should I do?
If it's been less than 90 days since Brainormous has sent out the email with your download instructions (which is sent out within 48 hours of your purchase), and you are experiencing a technical issue that does not allow your software to work on any computer, Brainormous will issue a refund through Paypal. Go to the contact page and fill out the contact form to start the process.

I purchased from www.gdbdp.com. Now I need a password, what do I do?
Go to the contact page and fill out the form.

NO SPAM POLICY
Will you share my email with anyone?

- Absolutely 100% NO. We wouldn't even know how to do it anyway. We hang onto user's emails for two reasons. First, we're working on other games and might send out an email to purchasers announcing them. Second, your email is a form of verification (in the event that you lose your password and want to download again.)

What are the system requirements for downloading from BrainOrmous?
Most of the software is build to work online, so it's not processor intensive. If you can play the versions that are on the site, you'll be able to run the files you purchase / download.

What's the difference between "Browser" and "Standalone" when I'm purchasing software?
Most Brainromous software comes in two formats. The Browser format works on both Macs and PCs and will be a smaller, quicker download. However, it must launch in a browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox). The Standalone versions of the software are applications that run on their own, so they tend to be more reliable. However, the initial download of a Standalone will take a bit longer (could be 5 - 10 minutes over a slow connection).

I tried to open the software, but all I get is a black screen.
Some browsers have issues with displaying flash that is NOT on the internet. I'd recommend any of the following:
  • When you get to that black screen, click on it again and it might load.
  • Try a different browser (Firefox is quite excellent.)
  • Download the Standalone version of the software you've purchased from the Purchased Downloads page.

What if I don't have my password but want to download the software again?
If you forgot your password or fried your computer, no worries. Go to the contact page and fill out the form. If your email address is different than when you made your purchase, make sure you include what your old email address was. Another form of verification you can include in your email is the ID number from the PayPal payment you sent (if that was your method of payment.)

Can I fax a Purchase Order for my school? Certainly, send it to 509-267-5590. Please include the following:
  • the name of the product from the chart on the right
  • an email address to send download instructions too
An invoice will be then sent through the mail.

I sent an email requesting information (more than 48 hours ago), but haven't heard anything back yet!
Your email application (ie: Outlook) is most likely filtering / deleting the emails we send thinking they are spam. Go to the contact page and send your email again, including an alternate email address if possible.

I went to a download page but there was no way there for me to download anything.
Your flash plugin is either not current enough, or it is corrupted. Click this link for Adobe to get the latest plugin. It's fairly quick and painless and will allow you greater access to the latest Flash content on the web.

How can I tell if I need to decompress my downloaded file?
If, where your browser puts downloaded content, you have a folder or application starting with "Brainormous" (with a captital "B") then your computer decompressed the file and you need not worry any further about it.

How do I decompress or "unzip" my downloaded file?
When you download software from BrainOrmous.com, it is compressed in a zip file. If you can't open the zip file by doubleclicking it, then you need an application to decompress the zip file. (See the
downloads page for links to decompression software.) Make sure that, once you open the zip file, you drag the files that are inside the zip file out to your desktop or a folder of your choosing. There might also be an "Extract" button that does this. If you try to run the files from within the .zip file, they will not function properly.

How can I buy for multiple schools?
Go to the contact page and fill out the form, including the number of schools to receive details about special rates.
